The Market Common will celebrate the holiday season in Myrtle Beach with its 4th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, 5:30 to 11 p.m. featuring an appearance by Santa! There will be live entertainment, complimentary canapes, hot chocolate and more in Valor Park! Come join the fun!

On December 1 from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. you can celebrate the holidays with the whole family at the Annual Christmas Dinner Cruise on the Barefoot Princess. The annual 5K RiverTown Reindeer Race will be held along a tree-lined route in downtown Conway beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Sponsored by BlueCross/Blue Shield of South Carolina, the race is a fundraising event of the Coastal South Carolina Chapter, American Red Cross, and its Red Cross Rescue Racers program. $22 before 11/30/2012 $25 Race Day Registration. On Thanksgiving Day don’t miss the Surfside Turkey Trot that begins at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, November 22 at the Surfside Beach Pier. There will be a 10K, 5K or 1-mile race. There is also a free Tot Trot Race for children in attendance. Come out and join the race or come out and cheer on the participants.
