Try Your Luck at Crabbing

Many people have gone fishing or at least know what it’s all about but have you ever gone crabbing in South Carolina? It’s pretty much just what you’d expect – the art of catching crabs on a line. If you’ve never gone crabbing you should give it a try!

Every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. you can test your luck from the fishing pier in Myrtle Beach State Park on 4401 S. Kings Hwy, as we try to catch an assortment of crabs, fish and other sea creatures. This opportunity is held weekly through August 22, 2017.

Traps are a limited number and available on a first come, first served basis starting at 9:20 a.m. The cost is $5 cash per trap. You should bring raw chicken or raw fish to use as bait or you can purchase bait at the pier.

This is a catch and release program so that we conserve our resources for the future but it will give you the thrill of catching and handling the sea life that you capture.
